Provo

We made it to Utah with two cars and a big Uhaul of stuff. On the way we stopped in Panguitch and stayed the night. My sister and cousins put on a nice bridal shower for Crystal, so that was fun to attend. We spent the evening at the cabin and then continued on our way the next day to Provo. Jon left early and by the time I got to our new apartment he had unloaded all our stuff, by himself. We miss our place in Arizona, but we are getting settled. There is a train track immediately outsided our bedroom window, and at night it sounds like that train is coming right through our apartment. But we'll get used to it, right? Our ward is also very different than we had expected, there are 10+ service missionary couples, due to the challenges etc. in our area. So we have a feeling we will be put right to work, which is a good thing. We feel like we are going to learn alot while we are here. Jon is going to start school tomorrow, he is nervous, but he will do great. Just this time around he will actually have to study in school, instead of playing alot of basketball. I will also be studying for my board exam, so I will go to school with Jon everyday and hit the books at my old BYU library study spot.

For my graduation mine and Jon's parents came to Arizona. We had alot of fun despite all the packing. The past few days it has been nice spending time with my family that was here for Crystal's wedding. She had a beautiful sealing and great dinner/reception afterwards at the Lion House garden. We were so glad that it only rained in the morning and turned into a beautiful day. She was a gorgeous bride. It will be fun to spend time with Crystal and Mike while they are still here in Provo.
At the Ranch, this is Danielle and Austin's favorite face for pictures.Jon and I stayed at Hotel Monaco after we got married in SLC. Also Jon doesn't typically where Hawaiian shirts however that was the theme of the wedding so he wore one to dinner.Dinner at Buca di Peppo with Danielle and Luke. The dresses were very cute and made for fun pictures.

Change is a coming

Well I saw my last patient as a student this past Thursday. I came home noise makers and those poppers with streamers as Jon helped me celebrate my last day. I will be graduating this Saturday with my Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Pretty crazy that my two years are up and my formal education is finished although I have so much to learn. Along with graduating we are moving to Provo, Utah for Jon to start the MBA program in two weeks. I'll take my boards the beginning of September and the job hunt will commence. We have loved living in Arizona, but I guess it is time for us to move on to the next adventure. It the midst of our move Crystal is getting married to Mike Weber, so we are excited for that all the festivities that go along with it.This my lastest hair do, I love it curly and short, perfect for hot Arizona summers.
For our graduation party we went to the F1 Race Speedway, it was so fun.
This is my favorite room or "area" in our apartment. I hope I have a house some day with built in shelving, I love it.

Florida

Jon and I were able to get in a quick trip to Florida. Jon had a conference and I joined him a day later to enjoy the beach and the nice accomodations. Unfortunately with Jon's recent surgery there were no walks on the beach, but we still managed to have a great time.

It rained every afternoon we were there. It was quite the experience to be rained on while swimming in the ocean. I enjoyed the rainstorms cause it got rid of the beach chair squatters.

This was at an overpriced Italian place, however we got free dessert because we were celebrating our anniversary. We can thank the conceirge who called in our reservation for that one, cause it is still a good 4 months until our anniversary.

This is how my very fair skinned husband spent most of his beach time, however he was already sunburned by this point.
Our awesome room with view of the ocean from the tub. That is where I spent my time while it was raining enjoy a bath with an ocean and tv view. Isn't that a great view?

I am starting my last rotation tomorrow at the Arizona Spine and Stroke Center. I am so happy that I do not have to go to Yuma anymore. There is so much to do with graduation coming and preparing for boards it is so nice to have one less stressful thing going on.
Jon loves the beach.

Life keeps going

Start them young:)

Birthday meal at Joe's BBQ.

By the way I chopped my hair off, it was time.

So much has happened since my last post, I am so behind. Well I finished my rotation in Oklahoma, it was really great and I enjoyed working with Dr. Boring. Before I left Emily and Jeff blessed baby Wyatt in Ponca so that got the family together. It is always fun to get everyone together especially at home. Then I went up to Omaha and went to see Wicked with my mom and sisters. It was so good, I loved it! I am not one that is really into musicals but it was so fun.

Right after I caught a flight back to AZ to my long lost husband who I hadn't seen in 3 weeks. It was so nice to get back home and he had decorated the house and was already to go for my Birthday weekend. Jon made a card with a picture of me inside pointing to all of my greatest features and they were followed by a number. For each number there was a gift with the same number i.e for my gorgeous hair he got me ribbons to tie in my hair, my twinkling toes got little flower decals. It was so creative and then the final gift was a massage scheduled for that afternoon. I am so spoiled. Jon also wrote me a story that we were the main characters. He was a stealth James Bond-esk character who had quite the adventure trying to get to the airport to pick me up after my 6 week medical mission to Madagascar. It was really cute. We also went to a D-Backs game that weekend. I am so lucky to be married to such as sweet guy.

My new rotation is an Urgent Care in the East Valley. I work 12 hours shifts which really aren't that bad except I am so unproductive on my days off. I get alot more done when I work 5 days a week. I work with a different provider almost everytime and unfortunately most of my patients have coughs and runny noses. I did stitch up one small laceration, but I want more. I am always learning so that is great.

Jon has had a eventful past week. We got him in for the MRI and to see a surgeon for his knee. He had surgery on Friday that did not go as expected. He did have a medial meniscus tear as I original diagnosed him as having, however he had made it worse with his nonstop activity. Originally the surgeon said he would be walking immediately after the surgery and back to full in 4-6 weeks. However his tear was worse than expected so she repaired it instead of removing the supposed small defect. Anyways I had the joy of telling him when he woke up that he would be on crutches for the next 4-6 weeks, because he is nonweight bearing on that leg until then. He has taken it well considering his always on the go personality. He has not canceled any of his business trips and I dropped him off at the airport this morning to go to Chicago. He is a tough guy, because that would be one of the last places I would go on crutches.

Well I hope everyone's summers are off to a good start, I am excited for so many adventures that are coming up.

OKLAHOMA

So I have been in Oklahoma for almost four weeks now on an Orthopedics rotation. It has gone amazingly well, I was a little worried when I got here but I am really enjoying being back in Ponca. I am working with a great doctor and getting alot of clinical and OR experience. There are some great perks to being in a small town with one hospital. The commute is great and running into people I know often is also fun. Not to mention being at home and getting some good home cooking and spend sometime with my parents. I got to Oklahoma at a great time and watched the seasons change from cold to warm and watched the flowers bloom. Jon was able to come spend a week with me but is now back home. He made alot of friends while he was here both in swim aerobics with my mom, spin class, and choir. He is such a good sport and so supportive of me coming home for this rotation. We have gotten to spend time in Omaha for Easter and enjoyed meeting our new nephew and Jon also got to me Kade our 9 month old nephew for the first time. Jon also got to experience one of Ponca's finest traditions the Promenade at the Marland Mansion. All the couples prior to Prom walk a loop so the town can admire all the dresses and tuxes. Then I tried on all mine, Crystal's, and my Mom's prom dresses for him, it was quite a show. I have two weeks left here in Oklahomaso anyone still in the area let me know I would love to meet up with you.
Austin is a great soccer player and we got to go his game. He spent most of the game in front of the goal despite there being no goalies, he is definitely a defender by nature. Anytime the ball passed midfield he took off running away from the ball to get in front of the goal.
We are enjoying the game.
Luke introducing me to Wyatt.
Jon and Kade had alot of fun getting to know each other.

Also one of Jon's favorite activities in Ponca is giving blood, odd I know. So here are our fun bandaged arms.
